  • Consider turning off or limiting the browser’s ability to share diagnostic data if that option is available and you prefer minimal sharing.

These changes do not make browsing anonymous. They simply reduce unnecessary data collection while keeping normal use intact.

Password and Autofill Considerations

If you use the browser’s built-in password manager, ensure it is protected by a strong primary password or device authentication (Windows Hello, device PIN, or OS account). Autofill is convenient; leaving saved passwords accessible without any secondary check increases risk if someone else gains brief physical access to the machine.

For higher-value accounts, many people prefer a dedicated password manager that sits outside the browser. Either approach works if the vault itself is protected and the browser is not left unlocked in shared spaces.
